“The Future of Power in Africa” – Africa Energy Conference

What is required to increase energy access in Africa? Africa has made great strides in providing power and energy to the general populace, but much remains to be done to ensure everyone has access to safe, affordable and reliable energy.

"African countries will require an average of $40bn power grid investments annually for about five years to deliver stable electricity to citizens on the continent. The electricity demand will be influenced by the growth of the population in Africa, the massive migration from rural areas to urban areas, and industrialisation"- Kola Adesina, Group MD, Sahara Power Group

The LBS Energy Club hosted the 2nd edition of the Africa Energy Conference (AEC) themed: "The Future of Power in Africa," to discuss the progress, challenges and opportunities in the energy sector and how the continent can benefit from it.
